I've been learning on my EPP Prime, but wanted a smaller airframe that I could fly around the yard. At 32", this one fit the bill.
I took this out for its maiden flight on Saturday, the 7th of March. Winds were a steady 4 - 5 mph with occasional gusts to 8. Launch was easy and uneventful. I'm just learning 3D, but I was able to pop this into a wobbly hover with ease. Through the day, I got about 12 flights between myself and a flying buddy. He liked it so much that I ordered one for him too.
The instructions are clear enough, but check out spastic's build log on RCGroups for helpful hints.
The MT2206 has plenty of power on a APC 8x3.8SF or 8x4.7SF. A 450mAH 3S battery gives an easy 4 - 5 minutes of flight before gently floating down for a landing. Knife edge passes are clean as are loops, rolls and inverted flying. That's about all I can do at this point, but I'm learning a lot with this one.
I reinforced the aileron and rudder hinges with Beacon's QuickGrip and tape after the ailerons showed signs of tearing. It's a simple and quick fix.
