Items Needed to Complete (3S Setup)

The Yak55 is constructed from 8mm EPP sheet. 8mm EPP is much stiffer and more durable than 3mm or 5mm EPP, so less reinforcements are required. The fuselage and wing incorporates one carbon fiber square tube and strip.

The assembly is easy because you don't need to connect carbon fiber rods between the fuselage and wings for reinforcements.

Lets face it. This has some similarities to another brand model out there. I have several flights on both. This one is a little heavier than the competition, but that's mostly because the foam is stiffer. It's the snappiest epp plane I've flown because of it. This plane is a sweet flyer indoors and outdoors, just like it's cousin. No disappointments in the performance department. You are getting a lot of model for the money, but the hardware is mostly crap. Please come up with some lighter and higher quality hardware Value Hobby. The carbon spar is way too heavy, but I used it. I replaced most of the heavy hardware with scraps I had sitting around. I used z bends and carbon pushrods everywhere to lighten things up. The kit supplied rod for the tail controls is usable. The horns and motor mount are usable, but I sanded them almost in half as they are too heavy. Flying weight with a 2205 motor, 9 gram aileron servo, 5 gram rudder and elevator servos and a 3s 370mah pack is 235 grams. Heavy, but it has a BIG wing. I can fly it in the house, so it doesn't mind the weight. Great value. Please keep these in stock! (Posted on 11/12/2013)
