I have both models with the Astro in Pusher config and Blaze in EDF. The Blaze needs the center of gravitiy a lot further back than the Astro; probably due to wing design. Both are fun but with the same 3s power the pusher prop motor wins. I have upgraded the EDF motor to the Freewing 3500kv to run 4S and it did bump up the speed somewhat.
Already going to modify the Blaze as pusher configuration to run 5-6 cell lipo; with the Prop-Drive 1800kv motor.
Planes are super fun to fly and have lots of elevon control; so use expo if preferred. I have also upgraded the ESC to 60 amps.
Sorry, the review I posted earlier is for the Astro. Got the Blaze today and had it flying this afternoon. I used the EDF from the Astro instead of the prop and it flys great. Might try prop version later but I like EDF's so will fly this untill the ARF's are back in stock then order them. Easy build good epo foam, nice and slick. Cant get much better for this price. This is a great plane! I got the EDF version and it flys great. Easy to assemble, good fit and mostly done for you, servos installed, motor fan unit installed. The only downside to this plane is the clips tht hold hatch and rear cover on. They break easily and just dont work very well. Replace them with magnets or other type of clips and all is good. Other than that this is a great flyer at a great price. Shipping is fast and product arrived in good shape. Was not double boxed but was still ok. You wont be disappointed by this plane. Would be a great "First EDF". (Posted on 6/18/2014)
This is a nice jet but is not for beginners !
has good speed and slows down nice for landing, you have to rem the prop and put it on backwords so the leading edge is going the right way, all n all a nice jet for the money. (Posted on 12/31/2013)
