I got mine in the mail last week and assembled it. Beautiful flying jet at an outstanding price. Put a 2200mah 3s lipo in and flew like it was on rails. The low passes at full throttle are freaking awesome. Would recommend to anyone. Thanks value hobby for another outstanding product. I purchased this Edf without much expectation, i mean $70.00 for this bird Really! I put it all together (whichQuality Value Overall
was totally easy) charged my turnigy nano tech 3s 1600mAh battery (cg right on with this battery) went out to the local flying field added some D&R Expo 70% on low rates 90% on high to start with 35% Expo on my Dx6I
I tossed her in the air with full throttle, Wow i was amazed with just a few clicks of right aileron and a few
clicks of up elevator it was like it was on rails. Even on low rates it rolled really well, high rates and its crazy.
When it came time to land (which was 4minutes) turned her into the wind lowered throttle and glided right in.
It will tip stall if you don't have enough speed, but just give quite a bit of elevator just before you touch ground.
As other people have mentioned the tanks can break off during landing which is true,so i did increase my
elevator throws, as you need more when you land for better flair. I am very pleased with this jet, its a blast
to fly. (Posted on 5/14/2014) - Awesome Review by robert

Bought on a whim to fly an EDF. Im using 1300 30c 3s batteries, and this thing consumes the power quickly. My older batteries get 3 min flights and very hot to touch. The wing servo died after the second flight, switched out both wing servos with Blue 9g servos. The drop tanks lasted one landing :~).Overall Quality Value
Overall I would like more power, but it flies very stable. And the glide is predictable. Would recommend to a friend. Need some bigger batteries and might try a 4s battery. I prefer to fly with a little wind, easier to hand launch. (Posted on 4/10/2014) - Neat little edf Review by robert

I loved this jet until my friend crashed it into someone's house a month ago. The plane is beautiful and tough, the only problem is that I don't know how anyone can fly it on 3S batteries because it has no power with 3S batteries. It took multiple efforts to get this bird in the air with a fresh pack 3S battery rated at 40C discharge, and once in the air you have to fly full throttle or else your kissing the ground. A member of the club suggested I use 4S batterie, initially I was worried the ESC or motor would burn out, so I bought a 4S battery with a low discharge rate of 25C and the plane became a beast of its former self, take offs and turns were no longer underpowered. I flew it on 4S witn no problems for several months in windy condtions, a friend wanted to fly it and he went right over the flying field and crashed into someone's roof. Long story short the same "friend" found the jet in 4 pieces and asked to keep it, needless to say with epoxy he is flying it in the field every week and I am contemplating buying another one, its that good of a jet. Fast shipping, easy to put together, great price, built solid, and a treat to fly. I must admit it took me a week to build up the nerve to fly it since I've never flown a jet before.once it was in the air I realized I waited too long to fly it. It's pretty quick but not out of hand and is very stable in the air. It's easy to land but you might lose a drop tank when you land on grass. I took mine off and glued control horns to the aileron servos to protect them from stripping out when landing on grass. I did notice a little more speed without the drag of the drop tanks. If you are thinking about a edf plane this is hands down the one to get. I love it. (Posted on 6/13/2013)Quality Value Overall - great buy Review by tom

This was my first edf and I must say it is a blast to fly,the slow speed along with the quickness is great. Even the glide rate with no power makes landings a breeze. (Posted on 5/20/2013)Quality Value Overall - Nice kit, flys well, looks great in the air. A win! Review by Jerry

I purchased this kit in the spring and have been flying it all summer long. Hand launch method is different for each jet it seems, I have 3 64mm, one 30mm and one 35mm. We have found that launching this jet like a frisbee is about the best for us. Take the jet by one wing, full throttle and swing into the air level and just a bit nose up. One tough jet as I have nosed it in once or twice. Build was very easy and instructions were more than adequate for a builder with just a bit of experience. I use the 2.4 Spectrum compatible receiver sold here in mine and a 1600 3s 65c battery for about 3.5 minutes of WOT flying time. Plane slows down well for landing and it takes a master to keep the fuel tanks attached. The tanks are the only negative I have about this plane but all the F86's in this size use the same tanks for landing on. Tanks are the only reason I give the overall a 4 star. When this jet goes I will get another one to replace it. Nice F86. (Posted on 9/21/2012)Quality Value Overall - FUN & FAST Review by BigC

This is my 3rd edf. The F86 is a blast to fly. Have crashed several times due to pilot error and the epo foam just absorbs head on crashes :) I beefed up battery tray with carbon fiber rods as it broke in half in one of the crash. Using gforce 1800mah 3s 30c or sky lipo 1600 3s 40c gets 4 min of FT flight. Stock esc is warm on landing but it does handle the load well. Dual rates 57% Ail 75% Elev, 32% expo on DX6i radio. CG in manual is a little off. My CG is just 2mm past the end of canopy cover. Balance this upside down only. I marked cg with drop of hot glue on top of each wing to help find balance point before each flight. Mixing up elev on launches will get this bird on track. It's not too fast until it zips past you. Roll rate not as good as F9F as it drops like a brick when inverted. I added $11 Gyro on ailerons and it works perfect every flight--I flew today in 17mph wind no problem. Cheap gyro did its job keeping wings level. Stock power is ok as long as you don't fly straight up as it will stall. Flying on high rates is fun once you get used to this F86. Drop tanks broke off after my 3rd landing. I then filled each drop tank with Great Stuff Insulating Foam Sealant and no more issues. I fly this jet (along with my F9F) 3-4 times weekly and can't get enough of it. Each time is about 3 to 4 flights between 7 batteries. Next mission upgrade stock motor and buy more batteries...
