sweet quad frame.

running mine with pixhawk using the value hobby motors, escs and PDB. working well.

i did replace the arms. i think these are a bit soft, have a tendency to vibrate. (Posted on 9/11/2015)

One of the cheapest Reptile/Alien style frames I've seen. The frame plates seem to be stronk enough, with plenty of room for all the essentials plus FPV gear. Of course this frame uses Flamewheel 450 arms, so you can find replacement arms all day long for cheap. Its hard to go wrong with this one. (Posted on 5/6/2015)

This is my first stab at doing a scratch build quad project from all the hype that I have heard from my friends and the internet. Bought this HJ450 Spider frame, KK 5.5 ver 2.9 control board, G-Force 2212 motors and power distribution board from Value Hobby. Could not wait for G-Force 30 amp esc to get back in stock so I ordered Mystery 30 Simon K from another source. Put everything together as how it was described on the internet from YouTube and KK board manual instruction. Did not touch the control board at all and this thing was more stable than I had expected from a 5 - 8 mph wind conditions. I was amazed and will start putting on video components when this gets totally dialed in. I am very satisfied with the results and relative ease setting this up for the first time. Put 3 packs in the first day of flying and did not put a lot of money into this project. Thanks Value Hobby for putting in bang for the buck in the hobby. Great value for the money!!! Overall I'm happy with the frame. I'm using it for Aerial Video/FPV.
If using a KK 2.1.5 board these settings will help make it a lot more stable.

My son just opened this Christmas Morning and is excited to build it with me. Only issue is the screws that are shipped with the kit do not fit the inserts in the arms. I have reached ot to VH and I am sure that they will remedy this. We have plenty of soldering to do so the before we build the frame anyway so we'll get that done while we wait for the parts.

This is a very inexpensive way to build a quad with replaceable parts...thanks! (Posted on 12/25/2014)

i just wanted to let everyone this is a very good quad frame with lots of space for your camera and electronics the only thing i believe would make it better would be a power distribution board but at 13dls plus 4dls shipping you cant go wrong.
