So far so good using them in 60 size planes with no problem. Gobs of torque, center well, no complaints. A little skeptical to start with because of the low price. Used a full set on my mule plane for starters to try first. Went ahead and ordered enough to replace all servos on remaining planes. Buy a few to try and you will be ordering more I can assure you. They may go out at any time but what servo won't. JR and Futaba do not work any better and for the value these can't be beat. (Posted on 10/6/2015)

This servo took 4 seconds off my 13 year olds lap times in his Slash 2wd.Could be a little faster but it held up to a days racing and performed well. Alot better than the stock 2075 servo. I put one in my vta car as well. (Posted on 3/2/2015)

Fourth of July holidays is not a good time to need parts quickly and the 1501s I needed had a poor track record of working, out of the box (many rc forums I checked out). In this case, they arrived on a Saturday, July 5th, and I am pleased to say both are now operating my hexacopter retracs perfectly. Also, 2-day priority mail from the post office is cheap, reliable, and continues to be an awesome deal for shipping. Fedex and UPS has lost almost all my business. (Posted on 7/7/2014)

I have purchased a few of these servos for my Trail Trucks and they have been great. They are super even when my tires get jammed in the rocks. The price beats the more expensive servos that are out there. I have to be budget conscious and these are the way to go. (Posted on 7/4/2014)

Have purchased 10 of these servos. Using them in a Lanier Stinger Giant scale plane approximately 30 lbs. AUW with DLE 55cc gas engine for power. Handled the job with no problems. Using Lipo battery regulated to 6VDC. Same setup on Aerobeez 30cc Yak 55M with DLE 30 cc Gas engine. I fly them fairly easy. I give the controls to my friend to " wring it out". No failures. No they aren't digitals, but they're getting the job done for me. No more paying twice the price for "name brand" servos for half the torque of these. (Posted on 5/6/2014)

Installed this in my Turnigy Trooper short course truck, and so far it is excellent (thought i've only put a couple of battery packs through it now with this servo). It is reasonably fast and very strong. There is a nearly imperceptible amount of slop in the servo, which tightened up my steering substantially. Finally, it's pretty quiet for a metal gear servo, which I don't really care about but others might. Overall, I have all good things to say about it. I'll report back if the servo fails or something, but besides that, I'm not sure what would change my mind about this servo. It does everything the more expensive steering servos will do, but it does it at 1/3rd the price. (Posted on 4/21/2014)

I have been running this in my Axial Ridgecrest for some time now and has been flawless.. You could go spend the big bucks but why when you can buy 6 of these or more for the price you would spend on a name brand that will wear out in time... Very Very happy with this servo!!! I'm using two of these servos for my rc8.2b nitro. They are great and hold up to some good racing and bashing. Only problem I got is that they are not waterproof but that's a easy fix with some liquid tape.

Hello all who read,
If you are thinking of getting this servo, don't think twice. It is well worth it for the money! I ordered two in total and put on in a drift car and a SCT. It was a great upgrade from the stockers and it handles with great response.
First, about the drifter...I put this in my drifter because my stock servo just seemed too sloppy. It was a direct bolt-on into it. it doesn't create much noise actually for metal gears and is very responsive. I usually drive outdoors and the response time is very accurate to initiate the perfect side-ways turn.
Second, about the SCT...I put this in my SCT because my stocker was too sloppy. It's a 2wd and whenever I go backwards or go full speed on a straight, it would wobble like crazy and would not keep the cornering consistent in a tight turn. With this servo in it, I can turn even tighter. I am noticing still a bit of slop, but I attribute that to the sloppy steering assembly in the truck, which I plan to upgrade, but overall handles very efficiently. I can hold a line at the track much more easily and consistently plus go full speed without worrying about loosing control.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this servo if you are looking for a quick, easy, reliable, and cheap (not quality but $) upgrade to your RC, whether it be a drifter, sct, mt, scaler, etc. (Posted on 12/31/2013)

I've got close to 50 of these in my larger planes (30 - 50cc gas) and have yet to have a servo malfunction. Set them up properly and nothing seems to trip them up. I don't fly all that aggressively, so slightly slower speed is un-noticed. On the large control surfaces, I was concerned about their having the strength, but time has shown me that it's not a problem. I plan on continuing to use these as my primary choice for future projects. (Posted on 12/3/2013)

I purchased 3of these, one went into my stampede 4x4. Another into my LCG slash 4x4 and the 3rd into my crawler. The speed is ok but seems much slower than a stock slash servo. Once the fast vehicle is rolling at a decent clip then the servo picks up a little more speed. It's just fine for crawling as speed isn't needed. I bought this for use in my 1/8 e-buggy. I was very surprised at how powerful and accurate it is. It moves my tires easily and quickly. It centers perfectly and is just a very smooth operator. The servo comes packaged nicely and it also comes with a few servo horns including one that is extra thick, which I'm currently using on my rig. Also comes with screws to attach to vehicle and 2 screws to attach the horn/servo saver into the gear. It is my new servo of choice, I'm just about to get another, and I recommend it! i had this in my losi scte, work great, i ran about 30+ batteries, i them pulled it out and put it in my 1/8 scale jammin x1 truggy, i ran it for about 3 or 4 battery's, and then boom. no steering and i can hear the servo running turning and turning and turning but not moving the servo horn. this says it puts out 236+- oz of tourq. it may, but it is not big enough for 40 series big joes on an 1/8 scale truggy rig, fyi, i put it in the truggy because it the larges servo i had at the time, o well, i guess its good feedback for all of you.
it looks as if the gears are brass, not aluminum or titanium. i gave it 3 stars for the quility of the meatal they used, but 5 stars on value, im not sure how strong brass is, but it may not be strong enough for the 236+- oz the servo can put out.

I purchased 3 off these servos.. put 1 in my LCG 2wd Slash... my B44.1 4wd Buggy.. and recently in mr OFNA 4wd Truggy.... WOW... They perform as good as the $80.00 servos I'm running in my other 2 trucks.
They only Negative so far is the Torq rating is abit generous I think. But they are plenty strong enough for the trucks they are in.

Even after reading all of the good reviews for these servos, I was still a little skeptical at first - once I got it in my truck every last bit of skepticism went out the door!

This thing has plenty of torque for my 1/10 builds and its all metal gears make me feel that much more secure when bashing this thing.

Price was on point as well, so I bought a handful to keep on hand for new rides or replacements.

All in all, I dont think you can go wrong with this servo - it definitely delivers and definitely deserves the praise its been given.

I have used dozens of the HD 1501 MG in 20cc to 50cc gas powered airplanes, scale warbirds and aerobatic. They are built well, have heavy duty wiring and decent servo arms. On earlier versions the case dimension below the mounting grommets was about 1/8 inch taller than other brands. This meant you had to open the servo pocket a little before you could get it in. Not a real problem. However, the last batch I received (from Value Hobby) did not have this size difference and will fit in most servo pockets without modification. I can purchase six of these servos for less than the cost of one of the other name brands with similar specifications. I recommend them to all my friends. (Posted on 1/11/2013)

I have over 50 flights using the HD 1501MG servos on a 3D profile plane .52 cu in nitro engine. The servos have been totured with constant movement, and a high "Work Load"; 50 to 60 degree deflection on some surfaces and has performed flawlessly.This order is my second order for these servos., but not my last.
