Happy I selected this motor for my Flite Test Simple Scout. The Scout builds nose heavy. Because this motor is shorter and lighter than other recommended motors, my Scout balanced perfectly without any ballast of any kind. Performance is good using 1000mah 3 cell pack and 9x 3.8 or 9x4.7 prop. (Posted on 11/24/2017)
I have 4 foamie airplanes using this motor. The planes weigh in around 16 ounces with 18 amp hobbywing esc., and a 10x4.5 prop. I got the following results with my power meter: 12.44 volts,
20.77 amps resulting in 225 swats. !2.5 volts, 21 amps resulting in 227 watts. 12.3 volts, 19.7 amps
and 197 watts. (full throttle burst for 5 seconds) These readings would exceed the esc and motor
capacity therefore I rarely burst full throttle. After a 6 minute (800 mah battery) flight flying full 3D maneuvers the esc is warm, but the motor is barely warm. I have paid 3 times this on equal weight motors and did not get this good of results. I bought 7 of these motors that's how much I like them
The kv of the motor I use and tested is the 1250 kv. I definitely recommend it. Works for me! (Posted on 12/14/2016)
I had a 1000kv 12$ combo motor off of ebay that I took off of a Flite Test Sportster to put this on to gain a little speed. I was using a 1000mah 3s with a 10x4.5 prop before and after the change, my speed slowed and I could not go climb at the same angle I could before.
