FIRST CLASS(Posted on September 22, 2016)
I have been in the RC business many many years. I am critical of foam aircraft...and generally steer clear of them unless they are gifts. However this Piper is first class in every category. The struts are functional, all the parts were accounted for, the color and general lay out of the instructions was appropriate. Instructions were illustrated by photograph as opposed to text. A great concept if the manufacturers would all comply. I will without a doubt by a second one. I used a flight stabilizer and the plane flies correct. Lumbers like a real Piper. I'm impressed!! This is the best price on the market!

Order #100125859 - Complete(Posted on July 7, 2015)
I purchased the plane and could not get screws to mount in the existing posts...carried to local Tupelo, MS hardware store....I have never had anything that they could not solve....they agreed that screws were not long enough. I modified by drilling a piece of hardwood to slip over studs and used epoxy glue to glue the hardwood and then glued another piece of hardwood (I purchased the hardwood from Hobby Lobby). Both pieces of wood were perfect thickness wing lays perfectly flat on top of wood. I drilled very small pilot holes and used the 20 mm long screws to screw wing snugly into place...I do not plan to disassemble, I have a full size Chevrolet truck with enclosed bed the assembled plane fits easily into back. The plane does not run well in grass, wheels tend to lock up, plane then flips, the motor came completely unglued from cockpit either during landing when the plane flipped or when I was running on concrete. There was no damage to foam cockpit and there was dried glue on back of plastic motor support. It is evident that the glue simply did not hold. I am considering gluing it back. I thought maybe that wood could be glued to foam cockpit and use longer wood screws to mount motor where it could be disassembled and replaced if required in future.

My suggestions are larger wheels and fix support between wheels where it can be removed before flight, the support between wheels broke when plane flipped, the plane needs larger wheels for taking off in grass, and longer screws to assemble wings, (possibly use blind nuts.

One of the club members has an extra radio that he is going to use to set up a buddy box for me to learn. He thinks after he and another experienced club member flew the plane that it is a great trainer plane and both recommended that I use this as my trainer and not to fly anything until I learn to fly this plane. He says speaking from experience that he jumped around too much with various planes.

Thanks,

Louie Dearman

Great plane for a good price!(Posted on December 24, 2014)
I've had this Piper J3 for a few months now & I love the way it flys. It is great for beginners. This plane looks nice & flys great. It is pretty easy to assemble. Good for practicing approaches & doing "touch & go's". The landing gear cross members break easy but they serve no structural purpose anyway. So I just removed them. I've had several crashes & the repairs have been pretty easy. This plane allows you to get a lot of stick time in the air. It is one of my favorites.
