Zeta 3DX is a Winner(Posted on August 8, 2015) Purchased this bird here on VH.com. Shipping is a little pricey but the components & features make it worthwhile. Removable wings are a nice touch & makes this easily transportable. No issues during assembly; however, the motor thrust was off since no right thrust was built in. It's fixable but it takes some effort to remove the motor to shim it out. I'd recommend using 3S 2200 mAh packs with a minimum 30C rating for 3D flying. She's under-propped with the stock 11x3.8 SF. I flew her with an 11x4.7 SF & and have since switched to an APC 12x4.7 SF. Difference is night & day. She really powers through all the tumbles & has power to spare when exiting hovers or when bailing out of harriers. Excellent KE flight, almost zero coupling. Seems she's really built for that when using those SFG's. Elevator is a bit small for the size & weight of this ship but a fairly simple counter balancer (tab) mod can be done to increase elevator authority. Check out RCG.com for those details. Once the prop & elevator mods are done she's a 3D powerhouse. Hovering is no problem, pinwheels, tight-spinning waterfalls, KE spins, inverted flat spins & pirouettes are a breeze. CG can be a bit tricky but setting just at or a little forward of the recommend CG is working well for me. 3S 2200's are also needed to get the CG set right. Harriers have a bit of wing rock but if you keep 'em at a very high alpha it helps keep it in check. Definitely recommended if you'r looking for a well-made, nice looking, great flying '3DX' machine. |
