Good Value ESC, requires flashing in order to work properly with high KV motors(Posted on February 8, 2016) You absolutely can't beat the price of this ESC. I bought it for a scratch foam wing build that I will be thrashing around. You probably shouldn't put this ESC on an very expensive rig. One thing that I ran into with this ESC is that motor timing was set too low and it would cause my 2204 2300kv motor to stall. Reading the description, I saw that you could change the settings with BLHeli, unfortunately the bootloader is not enabled/installed on this ESC so you cannot program it through the signal wire. You will need to have an ISP programmer, in my case Arduino Nano clone, to program it. While doing this, I discovered that this ESC is identical to HK SuperSimple 18amp ESC, and in fact has the same type of hardware. You will need to use SuperSimple 18a BLHeli firmware to get this ESC to work correctly. Atmel chip pins for flashing are broken out on little pads right next to the chip. If you search for HK SuperSimple 18a flashing, you will find some resources that will tell you which pad is what as they are not labeled on the chip. Overall I am very happy I got this ESC to work, and will most likely buy more for the cheap foam builds. |

Wonderful Product(Posted on October 4, 2015) I am using 3 of these in a Tricopter I built for my wife. We are very happy with them. Very responsive and smooth. Highly recommended. |
