Seems like a solid performer...But CG Question(Posted on July 3, 2018) Overall I agree with all the reviews. It's fairly light, easy to put together if you're familiar with ARF's, and is surprisingly strong. Hardware is OK...Definitely use threadlock. I'm using a size 15 motor with 40amp esc & 2220 3 cell batteries. The manual calls for 125mm / 3.34 inches for cg. However, even with the battery as far forward as possible, it was quite tailheavy. I''m not sure why as I'm using the recommended setup. But here's the dilemma: 125mm is 4.9 inches, not 3.34. So which is it? (The MXS model indicates 4.5 inches as the balance point, and doesn't indicate anything in mm; so being similar models, I opted to measure by inches...Meaning that I used around 4.5 inches as the CG point. It balanced perfectly.) However, on its maiden flight, it was either quite tailheavy because the CG is further forward, or the incidence was off. But it didn't matter. As I was beginning to trim it out, it decided to nosedive and elevator control gave out. The good news? With some foam glue and some new thin plywood sheets, it's durable enough to fly again! I'll report back when I get it up and flying again! Anyone else who owns it...What did you land on as the CG? |

Great all around plane(Posted on May 1, 2018) I have to say this Sbach is my go to any time plane. I keep it in my Jeep for whenever I have the chance to fly. Recommended set up is good but swap out the battery with a 2200mah 4s pack and a 11x7 prop and hold on for a wild ride. For a 3D trainer built for slow exaggerated maneuvers it will bank and yank at high speed all day long. Great plane, more than worth the money. |

Outstanding Value!!!(Posted on March 20, 2017) This Outstanding plane is built well! I'm thankful that the box it ships in is thick! The carriers tested it's strength for sure, it appears as if the box was used to prop up a vehicle in order to change a flat tire. No damage to the contents at all, however I personally would add some type of wrapping around the hard parts like the steel landing gear. I'm impressed that such a great looking plane can be sold at these prices! I'll buy more of these next paycheck for the Future. Every part fits well. There should be more reviews but I can't blame the guys for not posting. They are out flying the plane! I'll be using a 15 size motor with 3 cell 2200 Lipos, that's the battery I have most of. I plan to try some Thunder Power batteries, those seem to be the best that have high output ratings, more than average 30c-35c. I'm certain this Sbach will fly just as good as it looks & builds. Now, back to putting this Beauty together! A big thank you to Value Hobby, you guys & gals found a Great Plane and the price is simply amazing! !! |

Good quality arf kit. Builds easy. comes with good instructions. Looks like the same plane as the 48" SKYWING SBACH ARF KIT.(Posted on September 18, 2016) This is a very good quality ARF. Seems to be put together good and feels solid overall. Plenty of room under the easy to access compartment under hatch for everything. For the price I am completely satisfied. Everything went together easily. Only complaint is that the main landing gear wheels are on the small side. The holes are to small in the wheels to put on to the landing gear. Other than that there are no other draw backs to this great kit. I haven't flown it yet due to the weather but I'm sure its going to fly great. This ARF looks to be the same as the 48" SKYWING SBACH. YouTube videos of this plane really show what this plane can do. Just search 48" SKYWING SBACH and you'll see for yourself. Next on the list to buy will be the MXS . Looks as to be the same quality as the SBACH. A BIG THANK YOU TO VALUE HOBBY FOR THE GREAT QUALITY AND UNBEATABLE PRICE ON THIS GREAT ARF SBACH!! |

Order # 100139057(Posted on July 7, 2016) This is my second Value Hobby EPP after having flown the MXS. Both have become my go to airplanes. You simply can't beat the value, looks and performance. My fellow club fliers are as impressed as I am. I'm using the Value Hobby G15 and 40 amp ESC with an APC 11 x 5.5E which is more than enough power for anything you might want to try. I also installed a Hobby Eagle stabilization system which allows me to fly on windy days. Like the MXS this airplane does everything and doesn't display any bad habits. My favorites are knife edge loops and inverted flat spins. I fly off grass so I left off the wheelpants and LG strut covers but if your field allows them they add a nice touch. My only complaint would be the control linkages, namely the set screw connectors to the control horns. While I'm sure they would work fine I fly fairly aggressively and replaced mine with clevises but this is a personal choice. I definitely recommend either the MXS or the sBach. |
