Great Value Seaplane(Posted on April 4, 2014) I was somewhat hesitant to get this plane because of the low price. However, I was greatly surprised at the quality. Covering didn't have a wrinkle! The covering really is like ultracote. Hardware was really good. I made an opening in the battery hatch and rear hatch and ca'd fiberglass screen under them to help keep out splashes of water. You need this for air flow to keep Battery and esc cooled The instructions are not the best. I would advise to thread your elevator control rod before gluing on fin and stab. Then slide them over the rod. I used a .15 motor with 12 x 6 prop....maxed at 37 amps and 550 watts. This is enough to make it fly fast. I flew it in a 16 mph wind and it was steady as a rock!. Beware of outside loops mine doesn't do them well, not tight at all. Will do nice quick rolls, inverted, and flies like a trainer. My friend said I should put wheels on it to fly off grass. I did! I engineered a landing gear you can rubber band on without making any holes in the bottom of the plane. The rudder is used for water rudder and air rudder so it goes below the bottom of the plane.....therefore flying off grass or snow would damage the rudder.......that's why I made up a rubber band on landing gear....and I flew it off grass! If you want a fun plane I highly recommend it.......I even talked my friend into getting one. I give it 5 stars! |
