Very nice airplane(Posted on September 19, 2018) Such a nicely built airplane I got a second one. I wish I could I have flown it but I deviated from the manual and to undo some mistakes on the first I didn’t and still don’t care for the joiner wire between the elevator halves so made thenm separate but controlled by one servo. I pretty much replaced all of the control rods with Sullivan golden rods which worked out great and the servos are the power he 1501mg which are also great so far. Power comes from an os 75ax and radio gear is Spektrum dx8 g2. The airplanes builds straight and simple and the covering only needed very minor touch up. I did also put some 4.5” wheels on it to help in grass. Looking forward to some flight time this fall. If you are into sport flyers that are easy to build this one is a great starting point, if you have any reservations on build quality, see the other reviews as well. It is sturdy and well built. I did strengthen glue joints and added triangle stock to landing gear area and coated the engine and fuel tank area with thinned epoxy. I also installed 1/4x20 blind nuts with nylon bolts on the landing gear and wing bolts. Would hesitate to buy another |

Great flying plane, buy two if you can.(Posted on April 29, 2018) Easy build, great quality except the horns and clevises. It built straight and true with zero tinkering and fitting. Powered with a ASP .75, dual receiver batteries and switches, 16oz Dubro tank and 4" rubber wheels and it still floats in on landing. It flies better than my SIG Four Star 40 by leaps and bounds. Great plane for glow power, electric will work if your into 8 minute flights and a very heavy plane. |

Exceptional value for the money.(Posted on August 15, 2017) Maidened this plane today - flies great - I did not have to make any trim adjustments on the maiden flight. The recommended CG was dead-on. Flew inverted, did loops and sport aerobatics. I did manage to hold a knife edge, but I really had to throttle up to do so, as the rudder simply does not have enough authority. There are some areas on the fuse that can use some strength and the wheels are too small for this size of plane, (both the mains and the tail wheel) but overall it is a great plane that is a joy to fly. I would highly recommend it. |

Very happy(Posted on August 11, 2017) Arrived today so of course I had to open it and check it out. Well packaged and double boxed. No damage and literally no wrinkles in covering. Just like any other ARF it will need glue joint inspected and touched up and I will also add triangle stock where I feel it's needed. The price can't be beat for what you get. Like others I will also replace most of the hardware. I had my reservations buying this ARF but I love it so far and can't wait to put it together. Thank you Value Hobby. I'll be buying more |

Best airplane I have ever owned(Posted on March 2, 2017) I bought this airplane in October of 2016 as a test beater plane for some old engines I have been rebuilding. After 3 different motors and pounding on this thing through a Georgia winter with high winds and tall grass, I am saving my pennies to buy another! This thing is just as good if not better than other airplanes costing twice as much! It floats in for landing and I have twisted this thing inside and out in the air! The old girl does everything you ask her too After many gallons of fuel the covering is still looking good! (unlike some more expensive models that peel like cheap bananas). If you want to take an airplane to the flying field so you can brag to your friends about how much you spent on it, then value hobby airplanes are not for you. However, if you want an airplane that is going to howl back at you when the throttle is stick is bending under you thumb then you are in the right place! Click "add to cart" and put some air between the ground and the gear. This airplane will do all the talking in the air for you. $90 airplane + engine = hide and watch! |

Great Low Wing Trainer (Posted on August 7, 2015) This is my third value hobbies kit. I like the VH kits with a few of my own modifications. The first thing I do is beef up the landing gear mounting plate. The wood supplied is too thin and small. Your first hard landing will rip out the bottom of your plane. I epoxied 1/4 inch plywood in the bottom of the plane. I pulled out the T-nuts that is used to mount the landing gear. I had to also temporarily remove the fuel tank wooden shelf to gain access to the bottom of the plane. I also glued in some angle stripping to strengthen the bottom. I reinstalled the T-nuts and fuel tank shelf. Now my landing gear is Rock Solid. I wish VH did this to their kits. I also exchanged out the wheels and tail wheel for larger ones. The tail wheel supplied Is the same one they supplied with my 40 size Value Stik and is too small for a 60 size plane. Larger main wheels make the plane handle better in grass. I also exchanged out the plastic control rod clevis's for metal threaded clevis's. I have a hard time trying to thread the plastic ones on the threaded rods supplied. I also added angle stripping to the firewall area , servo mounting board and the wing mounting board. This does add a little weight but makes the plane more durable. I mixed some epoxy with denatured alcohol to fuel proof the engine area. The plane goes together really well and balanced out easily. I installed an ASP 60 glow engine. This was my first ASP engine. It fired up very easy and idles great. So far I am impressed with this engine. The Stylus took off straight and needed very little trimming. I was amazed that it lands like a top wing trainer. It floats in slow for a easy landing. I guess it is due to the huge wing. This plane and engine combination did not burn up the skies. I was used to my Value Stik 40 with a OS 46 AX zipping through the sky at amazing speeds. The stylus does stunts well but would not go vertical out of site like my Stik will do. I have to add that my ASP engine is not fully broken in yet. I am using a 12-6 prop. I may try a 11-7 after the break in. A OS 75ax would make this plane scream. Everybody at the club was asking about this plane. They were amazed at how good it looks and cost. I am happy with it. I will try some different props and engines to speed it up. This is my first low wing and it is probably a good thing it is not super fast. You will be pleased with this plane. I am thinking about adding smoke pump. The stylus reminds me of a crop duster. Go buy you one and have fun with it. |

Awesome Low wing plane.(Posted on May 18, 2015) What an awesome airplane. I have really ran this plane through it's paces. From inverted fly by to low and slow. I have an OS .61 powering it and it does just fine. I did put on a bigger tail wheel because The flight club is a grass runway(not the planes fault). The covering right out of the box was as smooth as silk, no wrinkles at all. If your stepping up from a .40 to a .60 let this be your first. The sound from the engine resonates through the wings when you fly above you and makes a great sound. This plane puts the bigger competition to shame, look out Horizon. And great job Value Hobby. Thanks. |

My second one(Posted on September 20, 2013) I wanted a cheap 60 size to try a new motor and ordered this one well the motor turned out to be crap but I fell in love with the plane. I ordered a new one and set it up with the G-60 the HV-ESC and running 2- 4cell g-force 2200mha in line for a 4400mha 8-cell man I'm telling you this plane is great and with this set up I can be at 300 feet from a dead start in around 5 seconds and then glide for ever, give her 25% throttle and get a nice cruise. Kick the throttle up to 55% and she's fast enough for any trick loop or set of rolls. She will hang on the prop at 3/4's throttle at full she's at 800' in a blink of the eye. I don't know her VNE but it's got to be high. At full throttle and level flight just can't hold her. LOVE IT Save another one fro me..!! Only bad things are the rods bind and the electric bow is weak. Sand and lube the rods and cover the E-box with a layer of epoxy and ad torque braces corner to corner and she's ready CG is dead on the Spar, |

for the money great airoplane(Posted on August 2, 2013) I set it up with the new 10cc Evo and had ignition problems with the plane had to make 4 dead stick landings two made the field and 2 did not no damage this plane is rock solid I had very little trimming to do on maiden now if I can get this crap engine to work I will be set. Think I'm going to buy another and go electric but want one for gas FPV oh it's so real.. Great plane and for the price it puts all the big names to shame..!! |
