- I've had this Piper J3 for a few months now & I love the way it flys. It is great for beginners. This plane looks nice & flys great. It is pretty easy to assemble. Good for practicing approaches & doing "touch & go's". The landing gear cross members break easy but they serve no structural purpose anyway. So I just removed them. I've had several crashes & the repairs have been pretty easy. This plane allows you to get a lot of stick time in the air. It is one of my favorites.
