Overall I agree with all the reviews. It's fairly light, easy to put together if you're familiar with ARF's, and is surprisingly strong. Hardware is OK...Definitely use threadlock. I'm using a size 15 motor with 40amp esc & 2220 3 cell batteries. The manual calls for 125mm / 3.34 inches for cg. However, even with the battery as far forward as possible, it was quite tailheavy. I''m not sure why as I'm using the recommended setup.
But here's the dilemma: 125mm is 4.9 inches, not 3.34. So which is it? (The MXS model indicates 4.5 inches as the balance point, and doesn't indicate anything in mm; so being similar models, I opted to measure by inches...Meaning that I used around 4.5 inches as the CG point. It balanced perfectly.) However, on its maiden flight, it was either quite tailheavy because the CG is further forward, or the incidence was off.
But it didn't matter. As I was beginning to trim it out, it decided to nosedive and elevator control gave out. The good news? With some foam glue and some new thin plywood sheets, it's durable enough to fly again! I'll report back when I get it up and flying again!
Anyone else who owns it...What did you land on as the CG?
